Loved this park. Great basketball court and a spare hoop for balling. Great areas for the kids to play about and excellent views of the city as well. If its exercise you want then this would suit all your needs as well.
How satisfied you will be with a park depends upon what you want from a park. Despite living not far from Ruchill Park I had never been in it until yesterday since other local parks would certainly have been very busy.
Visiting this place is fun and has amazing beauty.

Dawsholm Park

Glasgow G61 1RT, United Kingdom
What We Offer:
Dawsholm Park is a public park in Glasgow, Scotland, adjoining the Kelvindale, Maryhill and Temple areas of the city, and southern parts of the town of Bearsden. It is situated on the River Kelvin, north of the River Clyde. The park covers an area of 33 hectares (82 acres), and consists mostly of woodland, with some grass and wildflower meadows in the southeast area of the park. The park was created from lands purchased by Glasgow City Council from Sir Archibald Campbell of Succoth, in 1922. As well as the woodland area (originally called the Belvidere plantation), the Council also purchased some grassy areas to the south of the woodland. Sir Archibald then gifted an area of land contaminated with oil shale waste adjoining the eastern boundary of the woodland.

Fantastic country park style space in the city. Nice walks along the river or up through the woods. A few new benches added in the last couple of years giving some nice spots to chill out. No facilities but wouldn’t expect any here.
We had never gone to this park before, it’s nice, clean, quiet, with a river and beautiful trees. Then we stumbled on a Spring party, with music, dances, songs and games! We’ll go again.
Beautiful trails and forest right along the river. Very relaxing experience walking through the greenery and sounds of wee critters.

Dams to Darnley Country Park

The area occupied by Dams to Darnley Country Park has been used for leisure for many years.[2] The park is largely farmland, but contains some historic woodlands. A lovely gentle walk which can be either a quick walk to the opposite side of the top damn or a full 8 mile return trip from the Dam to Darnley and back again.

Slightly scary bit where we lost the path and were on the main road. Whoever put the benches in clearly didn’t want anyone looking at a view. Nice walk, wild garlic smelled great.
If you fancy a walk on your own or if you have a dog this might be for you, some nice scenery thats not too far from Glasgow. There are no amenities at the location but then I wouldn’t expect there to be. From the parking area you can walk around Balgray Reservoir, Ryat Linn Reservoir & Waulkmill Glen Reservoir. Just wrap up as if it’s windy, there can be quite a chill off the water(s).
